One of my classes this semester is History 111. Currently we’re talking about the first settlers into the new world. When the settlers first came to America they were unhygienic and not sure how to do anything in the new world. We learned how the settlers would settle in the swamps and not practice cleanliness. The settlers also did not get along with the American Indians and were killed in raids. They were riddled with diseases and many of them died. After a good few years however the settlers started to learn how to sustain their settlements. They learned how to sustain the crops they grew as well as the relationships with the Indians. They also learned where to build their settlements and became more hygienic so the chance of disease was less. As the settlers found these different ways to sustain their way of life they started to thrive.
