I am currently HRM 344, which is a Personnel Organization and Supervision class. We have been discussing what it means to have a sustainable company particularly in an economic sense. We have been learning how to make the best of what you have to be successful and not waste any resources including people and their skills. The ideas are coming from a business point of view versus environmental which I think is very interesting. We also have been discussing how people are a resource and how a sustainable company is a better environment for employees. The class is also going to focus on human resource management, which I think will be very useful. The class can be a little dry and boring, even the teacher admits it but looking at the class through a sustainability lens is going to hopefully keep it exciting and intriguing!
